Kentucky Derby Look |

May 7th is right around the corner and for most, it's just another day. But for us Kentuckians it's Derby Day! Whether or not you're going to the actual Kentucky Derby itself, hosting a viewing party, or going to the Keeneland Event, you can't go without the perfect outfit.

The Kentucky Derby has always been known for big hats, printed dresses, and pretty jewelry. I put together this look for some tips of where and what to wear on the big day!

I love floral prints for spring, well just in general actually, so this dress was great for the season and for derby attire. And don't get me wrong, I do love the big hats, but I really didn't want to wear one that would get in my way this year considering I will be inside. So I chose a head band piece instead! It has the same effect as the hat does, but less headache. The Perry Street statement necklace just adds some bling! It's fun and that was the look I was going for. I always wear my Kentucky State Bracelet and it goes really great with the theme. It's from a Georgetown Boutique called Em & Me and I'm all about supporting local shops. I'm also wearing my simple Gorjana gold bracelet and earrings from my most recent rocksbox. I paired this outfit with my go-to nude heels, can't go wrong with them lol.

Don't forget like I've mentioned before in previous posts, all of my latest designer jewelry is from rocksbox and if you sign up now using my code (chloemilonxoxo) you can get your first month FREE!

These photos were taken by my sweet friend, Brittany Bailey. She's so easy to get along with and I always feel comfortable during our shoots! We have so much fun (even if we always lose something every time were together...including car keys lol)
I highly recommend her for any future sessions such as if you have a prom, senior pics, engagement, etc.

Below I've linked each item that I'm wearing!

Dressing up a plain top | Spring Looks

This whole look is based on how to dress up a plain top, even when it's made to just be casual! I decided to bring back this tulle ombré skirt on the blog this week also. Mainly because it matched perfectly with the blush top I've been loving recently!

Everyone has those go-to tops that are 'dressy' enough, but also pretty plain to be honest. Get some more use out of them by pairing it with a skirt like this! It's so simple, but the end result looks classy and fun! As much as I love statement jewelry, I've been really into the more 'simple' look lately, so I paired this gold bracelet to make the entire outfit more elegant. And  of course I'm pairing it all with my nude/blush heels. They seriously look good with almost any outfit, it's crazy lol

I intend on showing how to dress the top up (like in this post) vs. how to dress it down (dressing down post coming soon). All in all, this outfit is so much fun to wear and really great for events such as a dinner party!

Below I provided the direct links to where I got each item.

P.S. ignore the dirt on the heels! :) Sinking into the ground happened during most of this shoot lol

Opening Day Keeneland Look |

With Keeneland's opening day being this weekend (April 8th), I thought I'd share my favorite spring look that's perfect for this event. I'm dressed head to toe in Kentucky Based Boutique Clothing! I'm all about shopping local. This loose fitting, comfy, floral print, long-sleeved dress is from Calypso Boutique. It's located near downtown Lexington, close to Shop Local Kentucky! They have so many options for the perfect 'Keeneland Look' right now, definitely go check them out if you haven't already. That's also where I got these flamingo colored wedge heels! They're actually comfortable too, which is a plus for long days at the race track. My Kentucky State bracelet is something I wear almost every day, just because I love to represent my 'home'. It's from a newer boutique that's located in Georgetown, KY called Em & Me Boutique! They have everything from coffee mugs, to the perfect date night dress.

These pictures were taken around the Keeneland area, actually. Brittany Bailey is a Lexington photographer who has recently been taking my fashion post photos. She is so much fun to be around! Such a kind soul and all around sweetheart. We even got to pet some friendly horses while we were shooting this look! I've linked her blog below, I highly recommend her for your next photo session! She does not disappoint.

Below are the direct links I shared on where to get each item and the prices.
