Hillenmeyer Christmas Shop

Considering Christmas is NEXT WEEK, okay hold up, where did this year go?! Anyway, I thought I’d share some details about a place that I strongly urge you and your family to visit during the holidays!

So, I had never been to a Christmas shop before. I had always heard of places that you could go and pick out a real Christmas tree (not the typical plastic ones), but none ever appealed to me to be honest. My family has had the same fake tree for legit 20 years, so I never saw the purpose. I got invited to Hillenmeyer Christmas Shop, along with other bloggers from KY (so much fun!!!) and it truly changed my mind.

The shop not only has real Christmas trees, but also beautiful handmade wreaths, mantle décor, etc. This is a family owned business that wants to bring back what holidays are truly meant for, bringing family together!! In today’s society, spending quality time with our loved ones doesn’t seem to happen as often as it used to. But at Hillenmeyer’s Christmas Shop you and your family can enjoy picking out your own tree, roasting marshmallows by an exquisite fire place, take pictures with Santa, seeing a life size version nativity scene with REAL animals (so cute and friendly) and more! All ages will have a great time. All while creating a holiday tradition for years to come!

I had a blast! The shop really makes you feel at home while you’re there because it's so cozy and unique. Oh, and the owners, Joseph & Shannon Hillenmeyer, make you feel like you’ve known them your entire life. Very sweet and inviting people!
.
I know next year my family and I will be getting a NEW real tree for once from this adorable, magical, shop!

The Daydream Look

  •       Black lace crop – Forever 21 / wearing size small - $17.90 |
  •       Cream fade to blush tulle skirt – Lauren Conrad @ KOHL’s -$78.00 |
  •      Black faux suede wedge heel – Forever 21 / $24.90 |
  •      Bracelet – Lauren Conrad @ KOHL’s -  $14.00 |

I’m showing off my brand new (favorite) skirt here!  I’ve been looking for a long tulle skirt for months now, but hadn’t had any luck. I came across this beauty on accident while rushing to find an outfit before I went to Hillenmeyer Christmas Shop this morning in Lexington, KY. (Post about shop coming soon)  This look is simple, classy, and I can almost guarantee you will totally feel like a princess wearing this style of skirt lol.

MATCH THIS LOOK by using the Becca Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector  x Jaclyn Hill. It pulls together the  “Day Dreamer” / “fairytale” look!

Personal tip - LOOK FOR SALES PEOPLE!!! I got the $78.00 skirt for $24.00 all because KOHL’s had almost the entire store on sale PLUS an extra 25% ending today. I tried to find it online and they had a similar one, but a lot of things that are in stores will be online. I, personally, would rather shop in stores for sizing purposes and more variety. The bracelet that was originally $14.00 I got for $7.00! I constantly look for sales and rarely buy anything full price. I suggest anyone else who has a shopping addiction like I do, to do the same! It saves SO much money! Sign up to get email’s from stores, too! Yes, it gets annoying to receive them every day but when you do want to shop, stores usually always send discount codes in the email.

Stuffed Pepper Recipe

I've loved to cook for the past year or so now. Once I finally got the hang of how to not burn a house down, that is. Ever since, I've been trying different meals to switch things up for dinner. Recently I figured out how to make Stuffed Green Peppers. SO GOOD. And believe me, if I can cook these, so can you!
Here's my simple way of making them!

First, start off by getting out all of the ingredients out.
You'll need the following:
- Green Peppers (in this case, I got XL peppers)
- Rice
- (1 cup) Tomato sauce
- 2 Onions
- 1 lb ground beef
- Mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 black pepper
- Olive oil

Preheat over to 350 degrees F.
Next, start cooking the rice. Cook the rice in water on high and add a pinch of salt.
While the rice is cooking, you'll have time to get the other items prepared.

In a pot of boiling water, boil the peppers for 2 minutes.
After removing the peppers safely, it's now time to hollow them out. Meaning, take a small knife, cut a circle in the top around the stem (think: carving a pumpkin's top)
After getting all of the seeds out, rinse in hot water thoroughly.

Get small baking dish. Put 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil in the dish.
Chop up ground beef, also chop up the onions.
Place in a skillet and cook until beef is brown.

During this time, add black pepper and salt. (you can add other spices also if you want)

After cooked, drain the meat/onion grease. Put into a bowl and put it to the side.

Now is the time to put your rice in the skillet (after it's done being cooked)

Re-add beef/onion mixture. Add tomato sauce. Cook until hot.

Now stuff the hollowed peppers with the mixture.

Pour any left over tomato sauce on top.

Place aluminum foil over tightly and cook for 10 minutes.
Then, take off the foil and cook an additional 15 /18 minutes.

When done, sprinkle mozzarealla over top of the stuffed peppers.

Voila! You're done!

Enjoy xoxo

OH P.S.- This was all suppppperrrr inexpensive all because I bought the cheapest version of each item possible!

Dressing up a T-shirt

Whoever said you can't dress up a t-shirt was completely wrong. Especially if the shirt is representing the best state / team ever! Here's how I paired my new favorite Kentucky shirt with a vintage mid length skirt, and topped it off with a pair of nude heels.

KY T-shirt - The KY Shop  $38

Camel color Suede Skirt - Fox House Vintage $13

Nude Pointed Toe Heels - Candies Brand

Casual + Chic Fall Look

Since we’re approaching the colder weather months, I decided to invest in a new poncho! I love neutral colors so this combination is perfect for still looking chic all while staying warm.

| Poncho - Old Navy | Boyfriend fit jeans - Forever 21 | Nude heels - Candies Brand | Jewelry - Forever 21 & Lauren Conrad | Purse - Steve Madden |

By the end, I had to show the real me hahaha
